Following the successful launch and testing of ESA’s Proba-V satellite, Spectrogon filters will be used to scan every inch of the Earth for the next 5 years. The Proba-V mission will monitor and map land cover and vegetation growth across the entire planet every two days. The data can be used for alerting authorities to crop failures or monitoring the spread of deserts and deforestation.
Spectrogon designed and manufactured the infrared filters for the SWIR detector and supplied them to instrument manufacturer OIP Sensor Systems.
